Intend to input the filmed MOD videos into Final Cut Pro for editing? However, feel frustrated when find the MOD video can't be recognized by Mac. In the article, i would like to share two solutions for you.

First solution: Rename MOD to MPEG files, then import the .mpeg videos into FCP:

Specific steps on how to rename it:

1, Record your video as normal. Plug the camera into the AC adaptor, and the USB plug. Connect this to your Mac.

2. A new drive will appear. Open it. Copy the contents of the SD_Video folder onto your mac.

3. Delete anything that isn't a .mod file as these are irrelevant.

4. Rename all the .mod to .mpeg and change the extension when prompted.

5. Download ffMpegX and the necessary binaries

6. Open up ffMpegX and open the first .mpeg file. Convert this to a .MOV, .DV, .AVi file or whatever format you need. Final Cut is best with DV (although uses a lot of bytes).

7. Repeat as necessary for all your .MPEG files.

If you find the above way sophisticated, here is an easier and versatile program-MOD to Final Cut Pro Converter, which converts Mod or .MOI videos to FCP supported video foramts like MOV, MPEG4. More than it, it can also output other formats like MPG, AVI, MOV, 3GP for playback on various media players iMovie, iTunes, QuickTime, Final Cut Pro, iPod, iPhone and so forth. Meanwhile, it also supports you to edit the input videos, with its practical edit options.
